ENGLISH SCHOOLS RUGBY LEAGUE HERITAGE PROJECT 2009/10
In February 2009, ESRL were successful in applying for an AWARDS for ALL grant of £10.000, to record the history of rugby league played in schools, since the early 1900,s. We have had volunteers in all our RL playing towns/schools associations researching and pulling together the story in their areas. It has become a fascinating story of great players, schools, and competitions which have illuminated the changes in schools and society in the last 100 years.
As part of this project, we are now contacting all our current schools to give them the opportunity to add their story into the project. This will form a significant part of each local archive and will feature in the book being written by PHIL CAPLAN, which will tell the NATIONAL story. Please see attached for details.

Accredited through the Governing Body Parkour UK and endorsed by afPE this training is the first to be delivered nationally here in Doncaster on the 9th November from 9 – 3.30 at Rossington Pheasant Bank. Playground to Podium
As part of the 'Playground to Podium' programme Doncaster has to run a local multi skills testing event that is going to be held on Friday 23rd October 11am to 1pm @ Dearne Valley Leisure Centre. Pupils will be tested & scored on a number of multi skills activities and the scores will then be entered into the Parasport website. The results will then be assessed and certain pupils will be selected to attend a South Yorkshire event at EIS.
Please print off the attached letter and hand out to any pupils at KS3/4 that have physical disability or are sensory impaired and have some talent at PE or sport.
Please forward to HoD and circular around PE department. Also can you forward to your SENCO in school.
We've planned the event on a Friday so that SSCo can attend and help out (if any coaches can help too that would be great). If you are available that day can you please let me know so I can assign you to a task. We might also need you to bring 2/3 young leaders but this depands on the success of the leadership academy this weekend. I will let you know once I've talked to Beth next week.
If you can attend please let me know in advance and I'm planning to meet on the day @10/10.15am so i can run through the day with staff and leaders.
If anyone has any questions on this please call Matt on 07921477597.
