Level 1 Dance Leaders delivering to Norton Infants
Norton Infant Students with one of our natural Leaders - Tyler Evans

On Friday 23rd January the Norton Infants and Junior Schools received their annual Sports-Festivals to conclude the delivery of PE lessons from our Flying High Community Coach Carl Hughes.

In the morning Norton Infants School received a Multi-skills festival, which consisted of a fun zone being set up in the main hall and students rotating around various fun multi-skill activities. Then in the foyer area students learnt a dance piece to the High School Musical, consisting of various moves taken from the film, which had been choreographed by Level 1 Dance Leader Students from Campsmount Technology College.

Both areas were delivered by Sports-Leaders and Assistant Sports Leaders from the Campsmount Technology College, with some Year 10 students stepping in to assist as regular Year 12 Sports-leaders were out on Exam Leave.

The students from Campsmount were absolutely fantastic and their delivery was first class, the event was overseen by Carl Hughes and I, however, the majority of delivery was by the Leadership Academy Students. The festival lasted the whole morning and involved all students in Years 1 and 2 and students all received certificates at the end of the day to show they had participated to an excellent standard.

Then in the afternoon the Leadership Academy students went over to the Junior School next door to deliver a Netball Festival to the whole of Year 3 and 4 students. This was a fantastic afternoon, with all students being split into 6 teams from their class consisting of mixed abilities and then all students played a round robin tournament throughout the afternoon, whereby every team got to play each other in their class.

At the end of the tournament the results were revealed to all three Year 3 and 4 classes and alongside this staff had observed their classes and had given a fair play award to a team and this was announced as well. The winners of the tournament and fair play award all received certificates at the end of the festival.

The Leadership Academy students were again fantastic with team leaders looking after each class and a team of umpires, it was a brilliant display of leadership skills from the Campsmount Academy.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day, where all staff from both schools expressed how much they and the students had enjoyed it!!!!!
