10 3 10 TrinityFamily Primaries Cross Country
Venue: Trinity Academy sports field
Date: 10.3.10
Time: 1:45-3:00
Schools competing: West Road, King Edward, Green Top, Brooke.
Another team effort got our 3rd pyramid cross country off to a good start – Mr Potts and Mr Stuart were out setting up the course before some of the runners were out of bed, Wednesday morning!
6th form CSL volunteers marshalled the course, encouraging flagging runners on towards the finish.
Four ‘hares’ led the four sets of runners round the two courses.
And the races? Y3/4 races were run over ¾ mile; Y5/6 races run over 1 mile.
Well done to team coaches because all schools brought well prepared runners, most of whom ran the whole course and finished sprinting.
Well done to Mr Potts, who just managed to finish teaching duties to cheer on son Sam as he rounded the final corner!
Results:
1st place for the second year: King Edward PS
2nd place: Brooke PS
3rd place: Green Top PS
4th place: West Road PS
All runners received a certificate to confirm their participation.
Individual race winners to follow.
Many thanks to TA staff and pupil coaches for setting up and marshalling the competition, to team managers and parents for their support and all the Y3/4/5/6 pupils for their effort and enthusiasm.
