Yes, it's that time of year again - Y6 sports hall athletics!
Venue: Trinity Academy sports hall
Date: 24 11 10
Time: 2:00-3:30pm
Schools attending: West Road, Marshland, King Edward, Green Top and Brooke.
Welcome, safety reminders and activity rules are dispensed with, and we're off!
Boys to the track events and girls to the field, where 6th form coaches greet, explain and demonstrate the activities.
Suddenly, our athletics competition is up and running, jumping, throwing...enthusiastically!
6th form coaches are quietly talent spotting for next year's intake and noisily praising, coaching and encouraging, Y6 pupils are responding and their team managers are marvelling at the spectacle.
And suddenly, it's all over, the points are handed in, totalled and the final scores passed to Mr marks.
This year's champions are Green Top with King Edward 2nd, Brooke in 3rd place, West Road 4th and Marshland 5th.
All pupils received a certificate of attendance and Green Top look after the trophy for another year.
Green Top will progress to the next round where they will represent our pyramid at the Doncaster final - 11.2.11
Huge thanks to: Mr Potts for yet again making the sports hall available for us; all 17 6th form coaches for officiating so efficiently; Mrs Taylor and Mr Marks for collecting Marshland and West Road teams; team managers for their preparation of teams; and finally, our Year 6 pupils for their enthusiastic effort.
