The Flying High School Sport Partnership is part of a national programme to help schools develop Physical Education, School Sport and enhance local sporting opportunities within the community.
This is a Government initiative to raise standards in schools through the co-ordinated delivery of physical education and sport, ultimately to reach the PSA target of all young people taking part in a minimum of 2 hours high quality physical education and a further 2-3 hours of community-based sport by 2010.
It is one of 8 key components of the national strategy for PE and School Sport for Young People.
National partners: Department for Children, Schools and Families, Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, AfPE.
The partnership provides funding to release teachers to work with partners to develop and improve sporting provision within pyramids of schools.

School Sport Partnerships work focuses on the following areas -
- Provision of High Quality Physical Education for All
- Provision of opportunities for all young people to participate in a range of high quality activities on a school site
- Opportunities for all young people to access a range of high quality activities in a community environment.
- Provision for all young people to develop their sporting potential.
- Provision for young people to undertake high quality Leadership and Volunteering roles.
