As part of the Doncaster Hothouse Festival, Get Active School Sport Partnership and Wayne Sables Project are collaborating to showcase boys dance by performing at the Doncaster Civic Theatre on Wednesday 24th March 2010.

Hot on the heels of male dance group Diversity, the project aims to increase boys’ participation and achievement in Physical Education and sport through dance.  Of the nine secondary schools covered by Get Active SSP in West Doncaster, over 50 boys will be performing pieces in styles of their choice on the evening, as part of a Hot House “Youth Dance Platform” event.

Sarah Belk, Dance Coach for Get Active SSP, said “I am delighted to have received funding from the Arts Council England, Yorkshire, which has enabled us to run this fantastic project.”

“We are having guest appearances on the night from Urban Jokers, who performed on BBCs “Dance Like Michael Jackson” and Connor Taylor, which will showcase local dance talent and give the boys something to aspire to.  I am looking forward to seeing the boys performing on the 24th March; it will be an amazing event, one of its kind in Doncaster and one not to be missed!”

Tickets are on sale now, priced at £5 and can be purchased in person from the box office, or on 01302 342349.
